Real women empower. They empower each other. They empower men. They empower their communities. What does it mean to empower? It means to see everyone as equally capable of being his or her truest version of themselves. Being able to pull out the most awesome version of everyone they encounter. Valuing each and everyone’s unique qualities that make them different and ultimately beautiful. Never judging, looking down upon, or belittling anyone. Going out of the way just to lift someone up. Unraveling all of the negative thoughts that have engulfed so many people into believing they aren’t good enough. Creating a space where all of this can be done and welcoming with open arms and an open heart. That’s empowerment. (I also just described the VIBE Squad in a nutshell; they empower me each and everyday.)
When you’re scoping out a place to invest your hard earned money and time, it can be nerve wracking. Working out in a public space, especially for the first time, is very overwhelming. When you workout, you’re your most vulnerable self. No makeup, melting makeup, sweaty, clothing you might not where out in public, you let your guard down. You see other people, start comparing yourself, think people are judging you —sometimes a reality because people are mean, but sometimes you put that stuff in your head, because well, people are mean. Your instructor calls you out for doing something wrong —something you’ve never even done before —how in the heck are you supposed to know how to do something you’ve never even done before?! STOP. I’ve just described the pre-fitness anxiety attack we’ve all been through at some point, are going through, or hey maybe you’ve never gone through it before?
At VIBE take a deep breath, sign up for the class, and forget about all of that crap that I just described. You will never be judged, looked down upon, or belittled. We all have to start somewhere and it’s okay to be nervous, but workout experiences shouldn’t have to be scary. They should be fun, motivating, and inviting. If you don’t like it, at least you won’t have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), but you should be proud of yourself for giving it a shot. Maybe you had a bad experience at another studio or you have bad memories from gym class, but trust me VIBE is worth giving your fitness goals a second chance. Give yourself that second chance to truly feel alive. At VIBE, I can guarantee that you will always be EMPOWERED.
