Every now and again life gets crazy. When it does, I get caught up in it and forget to slow down. I bite off more than I can chew, start working on another project, and it’s 11:49 pm on a Sunday and I’m like where did my weekend go? Actually, where the heck did the past three weeks go? I get sick, can’t go attend my VIBE classes, and then bam I’m burned out. Hopefully, if you are reading this right now you haven’t been hit with a burn out, but I’m sure we can all relate to getting to that burn out point… or as I like to call it a case of VIBE deprivation. It is the WORST.
After my last bout with it a few months ago, when I was under the weather, I promised myself it would never happen again. Here I am writing this to you at 7 minutes to midnight realizing that OOPS I DID IT AGAIN. Last year my best friend and I came up with a weekly check-in where we would self evaluate ourselves to make sure we were taking care of ourselves. So this week, I’m going to challenge you to do it with me. Take a moment this week to check in with yourself to make sure that you are taking care of yourself: mind, body, and spirit.
Life gets crazy. It’s reality. However, if you do weekly check-ins you won’t end up like me… burned out. When we say kill the lights, find your VIBE, we aren’t talking about what lights you up… we’re talking about the cycling room. So now that I’ve done my self-check for the week, I’m going to get back on the bike today, Monday night, and get myself back on track with some classic Britney & Cross Spin.
