Last week I discussed ways to complement your VIBE workouts in order to keep your body healthy beyond your VIBE time. This week we are bringing it back home to VIBE. Many people are apprehensive to workout because they are afraid of the limitations that their bodies create. However, if you set your mind on those limitations, you start to create them yourself. When I first started working out I was nervous. I couldn’t run anymore after my accident, it was too harsh on my joints, but I needed physical activity and life is too good to let one moment of my life control its outcome. VIBE took all of my fears away. The instructors really focus on what I like to refer to as Modifications NOT Limitations.
Every class you take at VIBE has a way that you can modify the moves. For example, I have nerve damage through my hand and wrist so I can’t do traditional pushups. Andrea, our fabulous Barre instructor taught me how to do a modified pushup and it blew my mind. Take the time to talk to your instructors, before or after class, let them know about any concerns or injuries you may have. There will never be a time wasted in class and never a limitation to what you can do. VIBE instructors always know a way and if it’s new they will find a way to help you get the most out of every workout without furthering your injuries.
The only limitations you have are the ones you create. Our VIBE Tribe Instructors always say Mind Over Matter and they prove it to you. You can do anything you put your mind to and if you can’t do it traditionally, customize it. The only thing that matters in your class is you, not what everyone around you is doing. Don’t be afraid to modify your moves to find YOUR VIBE.
