In contrast with last weeks post (I need to play Devil’s Advocate to keep myself in check), although being an ambitious go-getter, that fights through everything life throws at you, slowing down is important. Balance is important. Okay, so you’ve got your cardio and strength training with spin, cross spin, and barre, but have you got your weekly reset? Actively resting is a key component to all workouts. Stretching, breathing, and being one with yourself is vital to being well rounded. Once a week, on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM, Heather offers her yoga class. She breaks down the stereotypical levels of yoga by creating a flow for beginners to advanced. Due to my nerve damage in my hand and wrist, I can no longer do yoga and it kills me. I get so frustrated I cry over it because I miss yoga so much. Yoga, especially yoga with Heather, is a breath of fresh air. It helps to improve your balance in barre and cross spin classes, helps to stretch you out by releasing tension, and reset your intentions with yourself —grounding you to who you are and your goals. If you are perfectly well and capable, please do yourself a favor and try Heather’s yoga class, you won’t regret it.
