Before I met Bae, I met a lot of duds. With each dud it was a cycle: be skeptical, let my guard down, get hyped, and then get let down. One of my best friends would always say, “Girl, keep it moving.” ‘Keep it moving’ became one of my core mantras that I repeat to myself when I need a pep talk. Adopting this concept has made a huge impact on my life. What does it mean to “Keep it moving”? It means that no matter what happens, you know somehow you’ll always get through it, so go with the flow, and keep it moving. When things get tough, work is difficult, your family is going through a hard time, you’re heart broken, etc., it feels like you’re suffocating and the world is ending, but after your storm, you always make it through it okay, right? If you let go of what you can’t control, a person’s negative actions, the things that life keeps throwing at you, and keep it moving, everything is always okay. When you’re at VIBE and you’re struggling to push through a heavy climb, hold that yoga pose a few seconds longer, get those barre heels up a little higher — keep it moving. You always make it through, always find a way, and always will.
Keep it moving VIBE Babes.
So, if you are a huge football fan like me … or you just happen to live in Buffalo and know the terms Bills Mafia and One Buffalo, then you know that the Bill’s Home Opener was yesterday. If you don’t live under a rock, you know that our team doesn’t play particularly well. However, Buffalo is known around the world for the supportive fan base that it has. Win or lose, all (most) of Buffalo always shows up and supports their Bills. One of the things I love about football is the sense of community that it creates. It breaks down the walls of so many diverse backgrounds and brings everyone together for a common purpose. We aren’t trying to win or lose at VIBE, but as I talk about it often, we are all human and have our good and bad days. We always show up for ourselves and have one of the most incredible, supporting communities in Buffalo. Being at the game, in the blazing heat, surrounded by a sea of red, white, and blue, hot and sweaty fans, it made me think of classes at VIBE. We might not be rocking jerseys, but we ride together as a team and we fight through the burn of barre, yoga, and cross spin. Like the Bills Mafia and One Buffalo, we are the VIBE Tribe, a team, all working towards a common goal — a better, healthier, and happier version of ourselves. And I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than that.
Every now and again life gets crazy. When it does, I get caught up in it and forget to slow down. I bite off more than I can chew, start working on another project, and it’s 11:49 pm on a Sunday and I’m like where did my weekend go? Actually, where the heck did the past three weeks go? I get sick, can’t go attend my VIBE classes, and then bam I’m burned out. Hopefully, if you are reading this right now you haven’t been hit with a burn out, but I’m sure we can all relate to getting to that burn out point… or as I like to call it a case of VIBE deprivation. It is the WORST.
